U17 AFCON: CAF go disqualify any country if 4 players fail MRI age test

As the 2023 Under-17 African Cup of Nations don dey ready to kick off for Algeria, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) don come outside dey announce say dem go disqualify any country wey up to 4 of dem players fail MRI age test.

This na based on the amendment of Article 27 of the TotalEnergies U17 AFCON Regulations wey the CAF Youth Organizing Committee and CAF Medical Organizing Committee recommend.

According to the amended regulation, any country wey up to 3 of dem players fail the MRI test go still participate for the competition but those 3 players go chop disqualification. On top of that, the country no fit replace those 3 players.

But if village people come dey follow the country make up to 4 of dem players go fail the test, then CAF no go get any choice but to disqualify the full team from the U17 AFCON.

Up to 32 Cameroon U17 players fail MRI test

Any country wey believe say the result of the MRI test no match their player real age or say the MRI dey wrong to disqualify dem player, dem get only 3 hours to appeal to CAF. And that appeal must come through CAF official e-mail.

Finally, no be only before the start of the U17 AFCON naim dem go run the MRI test as CAF reserve the right to perform more MRI tests for different stages of the competition.

This MRI age testing wahala dey cause serious problem for African football. Na for January we report say 32 Cameroon U17 players fail MRI test wey dem FA presido, Samuel Eto’o arrange for dem.

The 2023 U17 AFCON go kick off on Saturday. Naija Golden Eaglets qualify for the completion after winning the WAFU B U17 Cup. Dem go face Zambia for their first match on Sunday. Super Eagles skippo, Ahmed Musa don promise the boys N500k for each goal wey dem score.
